30 people detained, 115 gambling machines seized in Sungai Siput

IPOH: Police detained 30 people and seized 115 gaming simulator machines worth RM200,000 in an operation, code-named “Op Dadu Mesin Perjudian, in Sungai Siput, about 40km from here, last night.
Perak Vice, Gambling and secret Society Criminal Investigation Division Staff officer DSP V. Annadurai said 11 of those detained in the 7pm raid were caretakers at the premises, while the others were customers.
Police also seized a television, a closed-circuit television modem, 25 chips, seven handphones of various brands and RM14,670, he said when contacted today.
Those detained, aged between 20 and 60, would be investigated under Section 4B (a) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953. — Bernama
