Three nabbed for suspected involvement in luxury car theft syndicate

JOHOR BARU: Police have arrested three men involved in a luxury car theft syndicate in the state.
Johor Baru Selatan (JBS) district police chief ACP Shahurinain Jais told a press conference today that the trio were arrested at Kampung Melayu and Taman Puteri Kulai on July 14.
He said the suspects aged between 24 and 27 are from Kulai.
He said police have also crippled "Geng Myvi Hijau" following a spate of break-ins and armed robbery cases.
Police made the breakthrough with the arrest of four suspects on July 15.
"We suspect they are involved in at least 15 cases of break-ins targeting convenience stores and entertainment outlets in the early hours of the morning," he said.
He said police arrested three men in their 20's and a 17-year-old girl.
Shahurinain said the group's modus-operandi was to threaten their victims with a stick or knife, and flee the scene in a green Myvi with their loot.
He said the suspects were arrested in a restaurant at Jalan Mutiara Emas, Taman Mount Austin here on July 15.
Shahurinain said the three male suspects have previous records for criminal and drug related offences.
The case will be investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt in committing a robbery.
