N.Sembilan lost active debater with Lenggeng assemblyman's demise: Mohamad

SEREMBAN: The death of Lenggeng state assembly Datuk Ishak Ismail meant that Negri Sembilan has lost an active debater who always participated in the state legislative assembly sittings.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan described Ishak as a man who always spoke his mind.
"We are very sad over the demise of Lenggeng state assemblyman Datuk Ishak Ismail who died last night.
"On behalf of all the members of the state assembly, state government and Barisan Nasional (Negri Sembilan), I would like to offer my condolences to the family," he told reporters when met at the home of Ishak's elder sister Asnah Salleh, 69, at Taman Rashidah Utama here today.
Ishak, 66, who was Lenggeng assemblyman for four terms, left behind his wife Datin Norimah Ujang and four children.
He died from a heart attack at 11.25pm yesterday at the Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital in Kuala Pilah.
Yesterday, Ishak was attending an Aidilfitri open house hosted by Seri Menanti Assemblyman Datuk Abdul Samad Ibrahim in Tanjong Ipoh when he was reported to be have fainted and was rushed to the Tuanku Ampuan Najihah for treatment.
Commenting further, Mohamad who is Negri Sembilan Umno Liaison Committee chairman, said he had known Ishak personally for a long time.
"I have known him since my bachelor days and know his behaviour well. He was always outspoken and would say anything he wanted to say, without fear or favour.
"We have lost a friend and a good state assemblyman. May Allah bless his soul and place him among the righteous," he said.
In the 13th general election, Ishak defeated Zulkefly Mohamad Omar from PAS and independent candidate Zulkifli Abdullah by a majority of 2,058 votes. — Bernama
