Visa-free travel for Malaysians to Morocco

PUTRAJAYA: The government and its Moroccan counterpart have signed an agreement to allow citizens of both countries to travel back and forth without visa requirements.
The partial abolition of the visa agreement was signed by Foreign Affairs Ministry secretary-general Datuk Ramlan Ibrahim on behalf of the government and the Kingdom of Morocco's Ambassador to Malaysia Mohammed Reda Benkhaldoun on behalf of Morocco.
The objective of this agreement is to allow citizens from both countries who are in possession of a valid travel document to enter into, exit from, or transit through the territory of the other country without visa for the purposes of official and social visits for a period of stay not exceeding 90 days.
"The agreement will come into force after all requirements have been fulfilled by both countries.
"Holders of all Malaysian Diplomatic passports, Official passports and Standard passports will then be able to enter Morocco freely for 90 days, for official or social purposes without the requirement of a visa," said Ramlan during the signing ceremony at Wisma Putra, here, today.
Ramlan said 2,927 Moroccans visited the country in 2016 and the number is expected to increase gradually following the agreement.
"Morocco is the 34th country, we have inked a similar agreement with.
"The last being Bangladesh in 2014," he added.
