KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia is currently an attractive location for global business services amidst the disruptions that are happening globally.
These disruptions include political, economical, technological, social and legal disruptions, said MDEC vice president of investment and industry development Hew Wee Choong.
Speaking at the Global Business Services Forum 2017 today, Hew said the uncertainty cause by Brexit has resulted in the UK shifting its focus to Asia, which presents new global business services opportunities in Malaysia while depressed oil prices have made Malaysia more attractive within the region.
In terms of social disruption, countries like the US, China, Japan, Germany and Hong Kong are facing the reality of having to outsource their global business services to countries with younger workforce like Malaysia.
