Three including female toddler die in car-van accident

SEREMBAN: Three people including a female toddler were killed, while another three were seriously injured in an car-van accident at KM2.5, Jalan Air Kuning, Batang Melaka, Gemas today.
The dead are car driver Zubaidah Mahmood, 44, her daughter Nur Rufaidah Izzati Mohd Hafhizuddin, and factory van driver Mohamad Rosdi Muda, 22.
Tampin police chief Supt Hamazah Ab Razak said the mishap occurred at 1.55pm.
"The driver of the Nissan Serena and her two-year-old daughter died at the scene while the van driver was pronounced dead at the Tampin Hospital. The victims died due to serious body and head injuries.
"Two female passengers in the van and a female passenger in the Nissan Serena sustained serious injuries," he said in a statement here today.
He said the accident was believed to have occurred when the Nissan Serena that came from Batang Melaka entered the opposite lane and collided with the van.
According to Hamazah, the victims had yet to be identified and investigations were underway. — Bernama
