Decomposed child's body found in drain

KUALA LUMPUR: The decomposed body of a child was found in a drain in Kepong here today.
The body was found when a foreign worker who was working at a factory nearby was cleaning a drain at Jalan Kg Chin Lee Batu 6 Jalan Kepong and smelt something foul at around 3pm today.
"The worker found that the source of the smell was coming from a black plastic bag in the drain. Upon closer inspection he saw what looked like a decomposed foot protruding from the bag," Kuala Lumpur CID chief SAC Rusdi Mohd Isa said.
Rusdi said a forensics team was immediately deployed when they got the call and found the body of a boy of around 3 to 4 years old in a severe state of decomposition in the drain.
"When the body was fished out, the boy still had on his clothes and a pair of diapers," said Rusdi.
He said that visible bruises were seen on the head of the child.
"We cannot determine any injuries suffered at this moment as we have to wait for the autopsy report," he added.
The body of the child has been taken to the Hospital Kuala Lumpur for a post mortem.
