1Serve counter to be extended to various government agencies, departments

IPOH: The 1Serve counter which offers a wide range of services at the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) will be expanded to various government agencies and departments.
Public Service Department (PSD) director-general Datuk Seri Zainal Rahim Seman said currently only the Immigration Department, National Registration Department and Road Transport Department implemented the concept of 1Serve counter.
"The 1Serve counter will be implemented after the learning and infrastructure processes are ready, including the equipment and versatile frontline staff in various services counter environment," he told reporters after the 1Serve@Ipoh City Council walkabout at Ipoh UTC, here today.
Also present at the event were state secretary Datuk Seri Abdul Puhat Mat Nayan and Ipoh mayor Datuk Zamri Man.
Zainal Rahim said the 1Serve counter introduced by PSD was a transformation initiative aimed to enhance customer satisfaction and the delivery system of frontline staff in the public sector.
Through the 1Serve counter, the government counter services are transformed into one counter for various services, compared to the practice of a counter for one service previously. — Bernama
