Fit for office of the future

RECENTLY, HP showcased its ‘Office of the Future’ –a work environment that it labels as inspiring, exciting and secure – and which is centred around three of its latest commercial products.
The latest HP offerings were conceived based on a Steelcase Global Report that said over 70% of Asian employees work from more than one location.
This figure is expected to increase, as millennials and Gen Z make up the majority of the workforce by 2020.
These employees expect more from the technological devices they use, and place more value on unique work experiences such as flexible work arrangements.
In a survey by CBRE Research on Asia-Pacific millennials, over 60% indicated workplace flexibility and mobility as a significant influence in job selection.
“To motivate employees and attract new talent, businesses need to adapt to the new ways employees prefer to work, as well as provide them with the autonomy to take control of their work experiences,” said Kym Lim, the managing director of HP PPS Sales.
She added that technology is a key enabler in building a smart and safe work environment.
“HP provides technology that is innovative, manageable, and secure for employees to engage more closely and fluidly, and puts [the] IT [department] at ease.”
The products introduced by HP were the HP EliteBook x360 business convertible, the HPx Workstations – consisting of the Zbook Studio G3 Mobile Workstation, and the HP Z2 Mini G3 Workstation – and the HP Elite x2 1012 G2.
The HP EliteBook x360 is labelled as the world’s thinnest business convertible.
Made for both work and play, it combines power in a thin and light stylish design, with collaboration capabilities, HP Elite-class enterprise security, and durability.
It has the latest security innovations such as HP Sure Start Gen3, the world’s only self-healing BIOS, now with run-time memory protection.
Also optimised for collaboration is the HP Elite x2 1012 G2 2-in-1 PC. This full-powered Windows 10 PC comes in a tablet form, is perfect for portability, highly presentable, and versatile. When needed, it could also be attached to a keyboard which turns it into a laptop.
For designers, there is the HP Z2 Mini G3 Workstation.
This tiny powerhouse is made by design professionals for design professionals.
It supports up to six displays, and is tuned to give its users the best computer-aided design (CAD) experience.
If what you are looking for is power on the go, there is the HP Zbook Studio G3 Mobile Workstation.
This laptop is HP’s thinnest and lightest full-performance mobile workstation.
All of the devices highlighted are targeted at the enterprise market, and can be fully customised to fit a broad range of specifications.
