JOHOR BARU: Tithe recipients will get the opportunity to receive free healthcare services with the setting up of the medical specialist complex, Kencana Specialist Hospital here.
Its executive chairman Datuk Ahmad Raziff Abu Bakar said besides tithe recipients, the hospital which is expected to be completed in 2020, would benefit the people, regardless of races and religions, at a much cheaper rate compared to other private hospitals.
“If the government has various policies to alleviate the people’s burden, we, from the private sector, want to provide assistance through healthcare.
“When hearing about private hospitals, the first thing that comes to mind is the skyrocketing service charge but not at Kencana Specialist Hospital. So indirectly, we help ease the burden of government hospitals,” he said in a press conference here today.
According to Ahmad Raziff, the pilot project was also in line with the vision and mission of the Johor state government, under the administration of Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, who aspired to turn the state into a medical hub and promotes health tourism in the move to ensure that the people are provided with top healthcare services.
The hospital is being developed in a collaborative effort between Perbadanan Islam Johor and Kencana Healthcare Sdn Bhd on a 5.5-hectare wakaf or endowment land owned by the Johor Islamic Religious Council at a cost of RM600 million. — Bernama
