Malaysian pilgrims urged to maintain discipline in Holy Land

MADINAH: The 30,200 Malaysians who will perform their Haj this year have been urged to maintain a high standard of discipline to protect the country's good name.
Malaysian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Datuk Zainol Rahim Zainuddin said Malaysian pilgrims were known for being disciplined and observant of the regulations set by the Saudi authorities.
"I advise Malaysian pilgrims to be disciplined. Malaysian pilgrims have always been known to be very disciplined.
" ... observe the regulations and instructions of the Saudi Arabian government ... take heed of the advice given by Tabung Haji staff," he told reporters after receiving the first group of 483 Malaysian pilgrims at the pilgrim accommodation at Hotel Anwar Al Madinah Movenpick on Monday.
The group had departed the KL International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang at 5.30 am (Malaysian time) on Monday.

Zainol Rahim said the pilgrims must also pay attention to their health, including drinking a lot of water because of the current hot weather in Madinah and Makkah.
"The Haj season this year is the same as last year ... hot, if you are not healthy, go see a doctor among the Tabung Haji staff," he said.
He also urged Malaysians to stay safe when performing the Haj because of the high number of pilgrims this year.
Zainol Rahim also expressed his thanks to the Saudi Arabian government, especially King Salman Abdulaziz Al-Saud, who had granted many facilities to Malaysians to perform the Haj. — Bernama
