Pakatan leaders will not allow Tun M to be PM: Salleh Keruak

PETALING JAYA: There is no way the other leaders in Pakatan Harapan (PH) will allow Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to become the prime minister if the opposition wins the elections.
Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak (pix) said Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Lim Kit Siang, both bitter rivals of Mahathir before the latter joined PH, would not allow that to happen after what he did to them.
"Not to mention that would be political suicide for PH if they face the general election promising voters a return to Mahathirism," he said in a blog post today.
Salleh alluded that Mahathir must have lost track of reality if he thought the opposition coalition would let him helm the country as the top administrative leader again.
He said the "offer" for Mahathir to become PH's prime minister was not genuine and merely to get him to continue attacking Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.
However, PH has to date not named any prime minister candidate, while Mahathir had ruled himself out, claiming that he preferred an advisory role in the government.
