PUTRAJAYA: The sudden transfer of two top brass of the Road Transport Department (RTD) on Saturday is the prerogative of the Public Services Commission (PSC) and is not an uncommon exercise in the government services, said RTD director-general Datuk Seri Nadzri Siron (pix).
Nadzri told theSun the transfers of the RTD's deputy director-general (planning and operations) Datuk Yusoff Ayob and director of enforcement Datuk V. Valluvan was ordered by the PSC and the announcement of their replacements are yet to be made.
However, it is believed that Yusoff's transfer to the PSC was following a traffic offence he committed and charged in court for last week.
He had also not showed up in court to hear the charges but sent an aide to plead guilty to the charge on his behalf.
Yusof was slapped with a RM600 fine.
It is learnt that Valluvan's transfer also to the PSC was a result of three personnel of the RTD's elite special action unit being detained by police for allegedly breaking into Nadzri's office about two weeks ago.
The unit which is under Valluvan has been ordered to temporarily cease its function following the case.
The three RTD personnel were questioned over the break-in and freed on bail later.
No items went missing from Nadzri's office and the intruders are said to have been looking for a "specific thing" which they did not find.
Kuala Lumpur police CID chief SAC Rusdi Md Isa told theSun today that police are looking for a fourth suspect who is a civilian to assist in the investigations.
It is learnt that police are trying to determine if the fourth man was the mastermind behind the case.
Nadzri declined to comment on the case when asked today, saying he has left it to the police to investigate.
