Labuan MP Rozman meets PM over development,14th GE

LABUAN: Member of Parliament for Labuan Datuk Rozman Isli today had an "eye to eye" discussion with the Prime Minister over the island's future and development progress.
Rozman also briefed the Umno President on Labuan Umno and BN preparation for the 14th general election.
"We thanked the Prime Minister for his time despite his hectic schedule, we discussed various economic and infrastructure development issues and also the launching of Labuan Development Blueprint expected to be launched on federal territory day in February next year," he told Bernama when contacted in Kuala Lumpur today.
He also expressed to the prime minister the need to give more attention to the current economic situation in Labuan which was so badly affected by the downturn of the Oil and Gas (O&G) sector.
He also highlighted to Najib that Labuan needed some short-term measures to ease the difficulty being faced by the people of Labuan.
During the discussion, the Prime Minister approved a number of Rozman's requests such as the budget to help small traders and also coastal fishermen, besides the budget for small infrastructure projects. — Bernama
