PUTRAJAYA: Translational research across agencies and disciplines will nurture quality academic community, namely educators, researchers, institutional leaders, practitioners, academic support staff and students, said Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh.
He said Malaysia's education ecosystem should strive to ensure that their teaching and learning, research and innovation and extension practices focus on benefiting all segments of the industry and community.

"Translational research and practices provide us with the opportunity to redesign our higher education and to transform universities into an institution that champions real world research and practices besides nurturing a more synergistic partnership," he said in his keynote address for the International Conference in Educational Research and Practices (ICERP) 2017.
His text of the speech was read by Higher Education Ministry deputy secretary-general Datuk Kamel Mohamad at the two-day conference.
Meanwhile, Universiti Putra Malaysia which is hosting the conference, said ICERP was an effort in establishing research collaborative networks among scholars, researchers and policy makers at public and private sectors at national and international level. — Bernama
