Two killed in lorry-trailer collision

NIBONG TEBAL: A man and a woman were killed after the lorry they were in crashed into the back of a trailer today.
Lorry driver Teoh Beng Koon, 61, and Low Kuan Tai, 58, died on the spot from severe head injuries in the 1.10am incident at Km156.4 of the North-South Expressway.
The 45-year-old driver of the trailer escaped unhurt.
South Seberang Perai district police chief Supt Abdul Shafee Abdul Hamd said the trailer was heading towards Jawi from Bukit Tambun.
He said Teoh is believed to have dozed off and crashed into the trailer.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent to the Sungai Bakap Hospital for post-mortem.
Abdul Shafee said the case was being investigated for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving under the Road Transport Act 1897.
