Nur Jazlan: KDN to get biometric data directly from refugees

JOHOR BARU: The Home Ministry (KDN) will take more drastic actions to obtain biometric information directly from refugees without going through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) .
Deputy Home Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed said this after having a walk about along Sungai Segget on Saturday.
"We want the biometric information to tackle international human trafficking problem created by syndicates," he said.
"We know where these refugees are situated and we will go and get the data we need directly from them."
