JOHOR BARU: Deputy Home Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed noted that the consultation fee for the landscaping project along Sungai Segget was extraordinarily high.
"The RM20 million consultation fee for the RM57 million landscaping project is too high as it amounted to about 35% of the total cost. It is very abnormal," he said.
The landscaping project is the final phase of the RM270 million Sungai Segget rehabilitation and rejuvenation project developed by Regional Development Authority (IRDA).

The Pulai MP felt very disappointed and tasked IRDA to carry out an audit on the procurement procedures.

He said, the Johor Baru City Council (MBJB) only came to know of the extraordinarily high consultation fee in the last week's meeting with IRDA.

The Sungai Segget rejuvenation project commenced in 2013 and the landscaping work is to ensure that area becomes a hub for both local and foreign tourists.
