Policeman drowns after boat capsizes at Semenyih Dam

PETALING JAYA: A policeman drowned after a boat carrying 10 anglers capsized at the Semenyih Dam yesterday.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (Operations) Mohd Sani Harul said the department was alerted about the incident at about 11.48pm on Friday.
He said 10 fire and rescue personnel were deployed to the scene.
"The group of 10 victims were using the boat for fishing. Four of them including the deceased were policemen.
"The firemen were able to rescue nine of the 10 anglers on board at about 6.58am.
"The deceased, identified as L/Kpl Amer Nur Rashid Dzulrashid was attached to the Sepang District police headquarters," he said.
Mohd Sani added Amer was found dead by firemen at about 11.26am today.
The remains of the victim were handed over to police at about 11.35am.
