108 foreign GROs nabbed in one entertainment club

JOHOR BARU: Police detained 108 women guest relation officers (GROs) during a raid at an entertainment club in Johor Baru between 3am to 6am on Saturday.
The GROs comprises of 54 Thais, 46 Vietnamese, seven China nationals and one Indonesian, aged between 19 and 40 years.
Police also detained the caretaker of the club, a man in his 30s, and screened 157 guests aged between 18 and 60 in the club during the raid.
The raid, codenamed Ops Noda was conducted by 20 policemen from the Secret Societies, Gambling and Vice Department (D7) and Crimes Investigation Department.
Johor police chief Comm Datuk Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd said in a statement that police have brought 402 GROs and other entertainment workers to court, police also issued 324 summonses to illegal entertainment centres, and 63 summonses to operators that have violated entertainment license.
