JITRA: Police detained an unemployed man for allegedly threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend and spraying her house in Kampung Salit of the Gelong sub-district near here with white foam from a fire extinguisher, over an alleged unsettled debt.
Kubang Pasu district police chief Supt Mohd Ismail Ibrahim said the suspect, aged 35, who was detained at his house here yesterday, claimed that the 31-year-old woman owed him RM3,500.
"The suspect approached the victim, who was on her way to buy groceries last Thursday and threatened to kill her if she failed to pay the debt. However, the victim told that she had never owed him any money as she was the one who paid for their meals throughout their relationship," he said when contacted by Bernama here today.
Mohd Ismail said the suspect then went to her house at 10.15pm the next day to meet the woman but she was too scared to open the door as the man appeared angry and ran towards the kitchen instead.
"The next thing she knew, all the furniture was sprayed with white foam from a fire extinguisher," he said, adding that the cylinder was found in front of the house. — Bernama
