PETALING JAYA: Following the release of the Auditor-General's Report 2016 Series 1 in Parliament today, the Public Accounts Committee will decide which ministries and departments should be hauled up.
Its chairman Datuk Hasan Ariffin said the PAC has since received the financial statements of all the ministries, departments and federal statutory bodies.
"We have received 145 financial statements as of July 28. From that, 46 have been issued with certificates without reprimand, while 99 others are still being audited.
"We expect to issue all certificates by Aug 31," Hasan told a press conference in Parliament.
Auditor-General Tan Sri Dr Madinah Mohamad, who was present, said she was "generally satisfied" as the ministries and departments were able to successfully deliver on their main objectives.
"It's only on the sampling that we picked up where there is some room for improvement, especially on establishing guidelines for programme implementation (and) also to tighten up supervision and monitoring of certain programmes," she said.
