IPOH: Two siblings on their way to visit their father in the hospital were killed in an accident at Km290.5 of the North-South Expressway (northbound) near the Simpang Pulai Rural Transformation Centre (RTC) here early today.
Perak Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department deputy chief DSP Mohd Mahiri Hussin said Gurvider Singh Jasbent Singh, 23, and his sister, Simrandeep Kaur, 25, died at the scene due to severe injuries sustained in the 3am accident.
"Gurvider Singh was driving a Perodua Axia car from Kuala Lumpur to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here when he lost control of the vehicle which hit the rear of a Perodua Myvi car and crashed onto a laden vehicle transporter parked at the side of the road," he said when contacted here.
Mohd Mahiri said the collision caused the Myvi car to turn turtle and end up in a ditch.
"However, the driver, his passenger and the transporter driver were unhurt," he said, adding that the bodies of the siblings were sent to the hospital. — Bernama
