Madinah gives credit to her dept for success of AG Report

PUTRAJAYA: Auditor-General Tan Sri Dr Madinah Mohamad has credited the National Audit Department and team for the success of her first Auditor-General's Report released on Monday.
Madinah, who was criticised by certain parties on the grounds that she did not have any auditing background following her appointment as Auditor-General in February, was commended by a media personnel at the Auditor-General's Report 2016 Series 1 session with the media here today for her capability to carry out the job. 
"It is not about me. It is about the National Audit Department and my team and my officers. Jabatan Audit Negara through the years of its track record has never failed the government. We must congratulate them for this report," she said to a thunderous applause from senior government officials who attended the Auditor-General's Report session with the media here today. 
"When you take this job, a lot of people doubted that you can do this job," said the reporter to Madinah during the question-and-answer session. 
Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa who led the session said, such remark was an endorsement of Madinah's ability. 
Madinah was appointed as the 10th Auditor-General replacing Tan Sri Ambrin Buang in February. — Bernama
