GEORGE TOWN: Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng today asked why National Water Services Commission (SPAN) chairman Liang Teck Meng did not question Johor's high water tariff.
Instead, he was puzzled that Liang kept harping on Penang's water surcharge issue but kept mum on the southern state's tariff.
He said Penang did not initiate any water rationing while having cheapest water tariff compared to other states.
"It is better for him to care about his own backyard first," he told reporters after presenting RM33,000 cheques each to FGA Church Centre and Sri Aruloli Thirumurugan kuil at his service centre in Air Putih.
Lim and Liang was involved in spat on water issues in recent as the former reportedly saying losing confidence in leadership of Liang as SPAN chairman.
