SUBANG JAYA: Police are looking for a road user after a video of a road bullying incident in Subang Jaya went viral.
In the four-and-half-minute video, captured by a dashboard camera, a green Myvi with a probation driving licence sticker is seen tailgating the victim and driving recklessly, cutting in and out of his lane multiple times, and jamming the brakes along the roads.
The Aug 5 incident started with the driver of the MyVi appearing to swerve left and right in an attempt to cut queue.
The victim then honked at the perpetrator which then angered him, resulting in his erratic response.
He then kept harassing the victim, abruptly slamming on the brakes and causing the victim to halt several times.
Whenever the victim tried to escape to the next lane, the bully blocked her path, refusing to give way resulting in a minor traffic snarl.
A frustrated driver who was stuck in the traffic then walked to the bully's vehicle and urged him to stop his antics.
After a brief respite the bully continued to jam the brakes before the victim decided to take another route to avoid a confrontation.
The video was met with uproar by enraged netizens.
It is not known if a police report has been lodged by the victim.
However, when met at a police function, Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Mohammad Azlin Sadari said the incident is a traffic offence and police are in the midst of checking if the victim made a police report.
"We will verify whether the victim lodged a police report or not. Rest assured with a police report, the traffic personnel can identify the perpetrator involved in the incident.
"The bully's action is definitely reckless and can cause accident. Let it be a lesson once he is charged for his offence," he said.
