More flood victims in Malacca return home

MALACCA: The number of flood victims in Malacca has dropped to 83 as of 4pm, as compared to 94 earlier today, according to Malacca Civil Defence Force (MCDF) director Lt Col (PA) Effendy Ali.
Effendy, who is also Malacca Disaster Management Committee secretariat chief, said all the victims from the 21 families were still being housed at three flood relief centres, in Kampung Tehel and Kampung Tersusun Sri Mendapat in Jasin, and Kampung Seri Jeram in Alor Gajah.
"The are 56 people from 15 families at SK Tehel, 10 victims from two families at the Sri Mendapat community hall and 17 victims from four families at the Kampung Seri Jeram community hall," he said in a statement here today.
He said as of noon, the weather in Malacca was good and sunny, and he hoped that the flood situation would further improve so that all victims could head back home. — Bernama
