KUALA LUMPUR: An investigation has been launched after a badly burnt body of an Indian national was discovered in a burnt car at Jalan Changkat Hartamas 2, Hartamas Heights, here.
Sentul district police chief ACP R. Munusamy said the body was found at 4.22am in the car, in front of the victim's aunty's house.
"He said the last time the aunt saw the 18-year-old girl, who is a home schooled student, was at 12.30am when she was lying down in the bedroom after having taken her medication.
"The body has been sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem report to ascertain if any criminal element was involved," Munusamy said in a statement today.
He added a police forensics team and a canine unit inspected the area but did not find anything that could be linked to the case.
