HAVING arrived at theSun's office punctually to receive his grand prize for the Celebrating Hari Raya with Longines contest, Benjamin Yau Kia Siang sat with his father, ear-to-ear grins etched on both their faces.
Speaking briefly on his strategy for trying to win the contest, the 23-year-old Maybank executive in strategic planning revealed that he had submitted at least seven entries over the course of the contest's duration.
"I remember when I received the email notifying me that I had won, it was during halfway through a meeting, and I was pleasantly surprised, also wondering to myself what were the odds," Yau pondered.
From June 19 to July 3, readers of theSun were given a chance to answer two questions and complete a slogan to be submitted to theSun's website for an opportunity to win the grand prize, a watch from Longines' Master Collection worth RM7,700, or settle for the consolation prize of foldable bags from the brand.
Also present to receive their prizes from Queenie Wong, Longines Malaysia marketing communications manager, were consolation prize winners Ng Kon Meng and Chine Wai Tong. The third winner in the category, Ramona Azlinda Ali, could not make it to receive her prize.
All prizes were sponsored by Longines.
