Mechanic sentenced to 26 years jail, six whipping for incest

PUTRAJAYA: A mechanic was sentenced to 26 years jail and ordered to be whipped six times by the Special Court for Sexual Crimes Against Children here today for incest and committing sexual physical contact with his 14-year-old step-daughter.
Judge Yong Zarida Sazali sentenced the man to 26 years' jail and three strokes of the can on the charge of raping the girl and eight years' jail and three whipping on the second charge of committing sexual physical contact with the girl.
She ordered the 35-year-old man to serve the jail sentences concurrently from the date of his arrest on Aug 5, this year.
The man had pleaded guilty to both charges.
According to the charge sheet, the man committed both the offences at a house in Sungai Buloh, Selangor at 2 am on July 30, this year.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Nordalina Ali, who prosecuted, pressed for a stiffer sentence saying the man as a step father was supposed to take care of the girl, but had insteade took advantage of her.
In mitigation, the man said had children to support and take care of. — Bernama
