MUKAH: Sarawak will create a good ecosystem to bring children in the state closer to knowledge, as well as to get them to explore new knowledge, said Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg.
He said it was one of the initiatives towards making Sarawak the most developed state by 2030.
"We want to provide a bright future so that the children of Sarawak will be on par with other children in the world," he said, adding that emphasis would be on exposing them to up-to-date and high-technology.
With expertise in high-technology, they would be able to carry out high-tech research on the state's rich natural resources to produce new products.
Abang Johari said this when opening the state-level "Negaraku Sehati Sejiwa" programme at Dataran Pehin Setia Raja here today.
He also expressed the need for the Sarawak people to have a global mindset for the state to develop and be on par with other states.
The government, he said, was able to focus on developing the state because of the unity among the multi-racial community. — Bernama
