GUA MUSANG: The various issues raised by the opposition in relation to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak's administration will not weaken the Barisan Nasional (BN), said Gua Musang Member of Parliament, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.
He said this was because the people were not easily influenced by the issues which were deemed as common in politics.
"I do not think there is any (issue) that can shake the support of the people against the BN ... and the people are wise enough to decide," he told reporters after officiating the Gua Musang Umno Division Delegates Conference at Bukit Chekati here.
Tengku Razaleigh, who is also Gua Musang Umno division chief admitted that the people were feeling the impact of increase in prices but that could not be their reason for rejecting the BN in the 14th general election.
According to him, BN had its own strengths since long ago and had never been threatened, despite facing various issues ahead of the general election.
Meanwhile, Tengku Razaleigh reminded the BN machinery to continue working hard and to set effective strategies to get full support for the BN coalition.
"The BN-led federal government has helped the people including the rural people enormously despite facing economic pressures. We are confident that the people will reciprocate by supporting BN," he said. — Bernama
