No instruction to cover Tiruvalluvar statue: Negri MB

PETALING JAYA: Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan (pix) said there was no instruction given to anyone to cover a statue of Tamil poet Tiruvalluvar as depicted in an image sent via WhatsApp today.
"No one had instructed for it to be covered. It was behind a stage," he told theSun when contacted today.
An image of the statue was shown nearby a stage with a claim in Malay, saying 'Arahan Menutup Patung Tiruvalluvar Semasa Perasmian Sekolah Oleh Pejabat Menteri Besar Negeri Sembilan. SJKT Ladang Shanghai Seremban'.
The picture had made its rounds through WhatsApp, prompting queries from the public.
Tiruvalluvar is a Tamil poet and philosopher, who is a revered author of the Thirukkural.
The Tirukkural or Thirukkural or the Kural, is a classic Tamil sangam literature consisting of 1330 couplets or kurals, dealing with the everyday virtues of an individual.
It is considered one of the greatest works ever written on ethics and morality.
