Two men missing after boat capsize found drowned

JOHOR BARU: Two men who were reported missing after a boat capsized in the Bekok Dam in Yong Peng near Batu Pahat yesterday were found drowned today.
Batu Pahat District Police chief ACP Abdul Wahib Musa said the bodies of R. Kaalicharan Sam, 28, and A. Tamil Selwam, 19, were found at 8.37am and 10.08am, respectively, not far from where their boat had capsized.
"Their bodies have been sent to the Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital in Batu Pahat," he said in a statement here.
Kaalicharan, Tamil Selwam and a friend were reported to have gone fishing in the area, he said, adding that before returning home, they had planned on casting their net but the boat was struck by waves and sank. — Bernama
