No function in smart card to accumulate points: TnG

PETALING JAYA: While the Touch 'n Go (TnG) card can be used for various purposes, accumulating points for cash conversion is not one of them.
In refuting a viral message, a TnG spokesperson said there was no such function in the smart card to accumulate points for the purpose of redeeming it into cash money.
"Such message is not true," the spokesperson told theSun, while calling for card users not to fall for such unverified message.
A Whatsapp message that went viral recently had indicated that such feature was present in the TnG card, but many of its users were unaware of it.
The message also alleged that cashiers at the TnG reload points had been taking the advantage of converting the points to money for their own benefit.
Dismissing such notion, the TnG spokesperson said there were little-to-none opportunity for cashiers at the reload points to meddle with the card users' account.
The cashiers were put under strict monitoring, with guidelines and standard operating procedure present to avoid any error, the spokesperson added.
"Even if there was a variance, the person in charge would have to bear the cost. There is a system implemented (at the reload points)," the spokesperson said.
