Rafizi claims trial to amended charge

KUALA LUMPUR: Pandan MP Mohd Rafizi Ramli claimed trial to an amended charge of publishing a defamatory article on the Tabung Haji Board in his Facebook account yesterday.
Rafizi claimed trial to the newly amended charge, which contains one article instead of four articles.
Rafizi was initially charged in April 2016 for allegedly defaming the Tabung Haji Board in four articles in www.rafiziramli.com.
In the current charge, the alleged defamatory words are underlined or highlighted.
He was charged with publishing a defamatory article titled:"Analisa Kewangan Tabung Haji 2009-2015" (Tabung Haji financial analysis) dated Feb 8, 2016 in his Facebook account.
He is alleged to have committed the offence at about 9am on Feb 18, 2016.
Magistrate Umzarul An-Nur Umar fixed Sept 26, 2017 for a case management and Nov 28 and 29 and Dec 11 and Dec 12, 2017 for a hearing.
