Bali jailbreaker Tee back in Malaysia, say police

PETALING JAYA: Malaysian fugitive Tee Kok King is believed to be back in Malaysia after his dramatic jailbreak from Kerobokan Prison in Bali with three foreign inmates.
Bali police said they have received information that the drug smuggler had made his way back to his home country.
"We have been coordinating with Malaysian authorities, as we suspect he is already in Malaysia," Bali Police chief Insp Gen Petrus Reinhard Golose was quoted by The Jakarta Post as saying yesterday.
The four broke out of the prison by crawling through a 15-metre long tunnel that led from the inside of the jail to just outside its wall on June 19. The tunnel was said to have been used by prisoners to conduct drug transactions.
Petrus said Malaysian authorities had agreed to track down Tee.
"It is a real obstacle that the inmate is (probably) already in his country, but we will continue to cooperate with Malaysia," he said.
Tee, 50, was nabbed in January last year for smuggling syabu and was sentenced to seven years jail.
Another fugitive, Australian national Shaun Edward Davidson, is believed to be still in Indonesia. Indian national Sayed Mohammed Said, 31, and Bulgarian Dimitar Nikolov Iliev, 43, were nabbed by the authourities in East Timor's capital Dili on June 22.
Petrus said police would step up monitoring at the Timor-Leste border in East Nusa Tenggara in the hunt for Davidson.
