Man denies sending obscene pictures

JOHOR BARU: A foodstall worker claimed trial in the sessions court today to five counts of sending indecent photos via WhatsApp.
Nadzri Md Noh, 37, from Pontian, was slapped with five charges under Section 233(1)(a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, which carries a fine of up to RM50,000 or a year's jail or both.
He allegedly committed the offences between Dec 29 and Dec 31, 2014. He is alleged to have sent photos of his genitals to a telephone number obtained from a yoga training class advertisement.
Sessions judge Mohd Fauzi Mohd Nasir fixed bail at RM3,000 and set Sept 13 for the case to be mentioned.
Deputy public prosecutor Mohd Sophian Zakaria prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.
