School parades 626m long Jalur Gemilang

KOTA BARU: Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan (SMJK) Chung Hwa here made history when it paraded a 626m long Jalur Gemilang (national flag) here today.
Its principal Lim Jit Hun said the parade accompanied by 25 cars, involved 500 people comprising students, teachers and members of non-governmental organisations as well as the Kelantan Motorsport Association.
"The gigantic national flag is made from about 700 pieces of Jalur Gemilang that were sewn together since a month ago for the parade," he told reporters.
He said the initiative was held to promote the spirit of patriotism among its students as well as the residents in the vicinity.
The three-kilometre long procession accompanied by patriotic songs began at 8am and ended around 9.30am. — Bernama
