Rail services to be fully restored by Monday: KTMB

KUALA LUMPUR: All Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTM) train services will be fully restored by Monday as repair works are being carried out between the KL Sentral and Kepong stations, due to a derailed cargo train incident recently.
As such, KTM Berhad (KTMB) said its Komuter train service service would be using one rail track between the two stations from tomorrow until Sunday.
"The KTM Komuter service for Batu Caves-Tampin/Pulau Sebang-Batu Caves route will operate with a frequency of 30 minutes, while the Port Klang-Tanjung Malim-Port Klang route will operate with a frequency of between 30 minutes and one hour.
"However, the Electric Train Service (ETS) will be operating as normal for all routes," KTMB said in a statement here today.
Last Monday, the KTM Komuter services for both routes were disrupted after the derailment occurred about 1.32am at KM 386.900 on the tracks between the Kuala Lumpur and Kepong stations, causing obstruction to one of the rail tracks.
