Widow of Genting tycoon dies at 88 (Updated)

PETALING JAYA: Puan Sri Lee Kim Hua, the widow of Genting Group founder Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong, passed away this morning according to a China Press report.
Lee who was 88-years-old at the time of her death, married the 26-year-old Lim in 1944.
Lim and Lee have six children — Lim Siew Lay, Siew Lian, Siew Kim, Tee Keong, Kok Thay, and Chee Wah.
Lim was a prominent wealthy businessman and the founder of Genting Group. He owned Genting Highlands, one of the most successful casino resorts in the world, and one of the primary tourist attractions in Malaysia.
After his death in 2007, Lee inherited most of his fortune as the beneficiary of his wealth, making her one of the richest women in Malaysia.
Lee reportedly shared her wealth with her six children and nineteen grandchildren. She has been credited with being a firm supporter of her husband's pioneering efforts and maverick success in growing Genting from a hilltop gaming resort into a conglomerate with stakes in power generations, plantations, oil, and gas.
Genting Group is now run by her son, Lim Kok Thay. Part of the assets she inherited from her late husband includes resort and casino properties in Malaysia, United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong, Philippines, the USA, and the Caribbean.
