Class act by Cheong in 10m platform individual (Updated)

PETALING JAYA: World diving champion Cheong Jun Hoong showed her class when she led from start to finish to win the women's 1m springboard individual gold at the National Aquatic Centre in Bukit Jalil today.
Cheong, 27, amassed a score of 268.55 for Malaysia's fourth gold out of four events from diving today.
Jasmine Lai made it a 1-2 finish for Malaysia after coming in second with a score of 233.0. Vietnam's e Ngo Phuong Mai won the bronze with a score of 207.8.
With today's win, Cheong has collected seven gold medals from eight SEA Games appearances. She first made an appearance at the 2003 Hanoi games.
She became Malaysia's first ever diving world champion after winning the women's 10m platform individual final at the World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary on July 19.
