SEREMBAN: A three-month-old infant and two children aged four years, who were among 16 people reported missing while descending Gunung Berembun next to Kampung Pantai near here, successfully came down by themselves early today.
Seremban Fire and Rescue Station operations commander, Asst Supt Mohamad Idris said the victims reached the foothill around 2.05am.
He said the victims with 50 others started ascending Gunung Telapak Buruk located next to Gunung Berembun at 11am yesterday.
"According to their plan, they were to descend via Gunung Berembun in the afternoon but only some did. The 16 comprising four males and 12 women decided to descend at 9pm, he told Bernama when contacted here today.
However, around 12.30am, when the group failed to arrive, their friends began to feel anxious and lodged a police report.
Mohamad said 21 personnel in a fire truck went to the area at 12.42am but the 16 managed on their own to reach the ground, with only a complaint of stiff leg muscles by two of the women. — Bernama
