FOR its 21st Convocation Ceremony, the Management & Science University (MSU) saw a total of 1,871 of its graduates from across 77 programmes receive their Doctorate (35), Master (42), Bachelor (883) degrees and diplomas (911) from various disciplines.
The university additionally awarded a Honorary Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Science to Japan's Josai International University (JIU) President, Prof Dr Kenji Sugibayashi, for his developmental and innovative contributions to the local and international pharmaceutical science fields.
The scrolls were awarded by MSU Chancellor, Tuanku Hajah Haminah Haji Hamidun, Sultanah Kedah Darul Aman. Also present was MSU President, Prof Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid.
Furthermore, two study programmes, Master in Biomedical Sciences and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, saw its first batch of graduates.
The special awards of the university went out to 59 graduates for their outstanding achievements in academia and extra-curriculum.
The Chancellor's Gold Medal was awarded to Mohamad Azmirul Hazny Abd Hafiz, Bachelor in Investment Management (Honours); the President's Award was presented to Wan Farah Wan Ibrahim, Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Honours) and Danish Haikal Asman, Diploma in Multimedia; Mohd Shukri Yajid Outstanding Award to Dr Muhammad Isa Al-Wafa Zulakmal, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).
Thirty five graduates received the Academic Award while another 20 graduates received the Industry Award.
