Save the Rohingya

THE killing rage against the Rohingya in Rakhine province, Myanmar is still taking place.
The Rohingya numbering around a million are the most persecuted community in the world. They are treated as illegal immigrants from Bangladesh though they have been in Myanmar for decades.
They are not accorded citizen rights and are denied the right to live in Myanmar. They are often segregated, discriminated and victimised.
The persecution has been going on for years but recently attacks and killings have been intensified.
Many Rohingya are fleeing Rakhine and seeking asylum in Bangladesh but Dhaka fears opening the floodgates.
In the early 80's, Michael Jackson and Lionel Ritchie wrote a song, which was produced by Quincy Jones, and it was recorded by popular musicians to raise funds to help famine-relief efforts in Ethiopia.
We are the World rallied the whole world to come together to help the African nation. The song and charity single, We are the World, recorded by the supergroup USA for Africa sold in excess of 20 million copies.
We need the world to come together to stop the killing of Rohingya.
