Track cycling squad deliver two more gold

NILAI: The national track cycling team continue their winning streak when they raked in another two gold medals at the National Velodrome today.
The two golds are from the women's 500m time trial by Fatehah Mustapa and Muhammad Fadhil Mohd Zonis in the men's 1km time trial.
Fatehah created a new national record of 34.542 seconds in the race which was 0.125 second faster than the national record she set in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
In the race, Fatehah led seven other riders including national cyclist Anis Amira Rosidi who took the fourth place in 36.476s.
The silver and bronze medals went to Indonesia's Crismonita Dwi Putri with a time of 36.165s and her compatriot Santia Tri Kusuma who came in third in 36.345s.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Fadhil bagged the gold in the men's 1km time trial in 1:01.889s while Muhammad Shah Firdaus Sahrom clocked 1:02.356s for the silver and the bronze medal went to Singapore's Mohamed Elyas Mohamed Yusoff with a time of 1:03.929s.
The event's national record of 1:01.658s is still held by Mohd Rizal Tisin who set it at the 2009 World Cycling Championships in Poland. — Bernama
