Former AG's driver shot in the leg by assailants

KUALA LUMPUR: The driver of former attorney-general Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail was shot in the leg by two unidentified men at the victim's house in Ampang Perdana here yesterday.
Ampang Jaya Police chief ACP Hamzah Alias said the incident happened at 9.20am when the 40-year-old man was at the front door of his house.
Two men, in their 30s, rode up to him on a motorcycle without wearing crash helmets and one of them fired a shot after the other called out his name.
"They sped off on the motorcycle," he said in a statement.
Hamzah said the motive for the attack was being investigated and that the injured man had been admitted to the Ampang Hospital.
He is in stable condition.
The man had been working for the AG since January this year, it was reported at the time of the incident that the front gate was opened as the victim was about to leave the house when they shot him.
