19 evacuated due to flash floods in Sabah

KOTA BELUD: Flash floods that struck six villages in the Kota Belud district yesterday have forced the evacuation of 19 people from six families, according to the Civil Defence Force.
It said the evacuees were housed at the Tun Said community hall, and were allowed to return to their homes by 1.30 pm after the floodwaters receded.
The affected villages were Kampung Siasai Tamu, Kampung Bobot,
Kampung Ejuk, Kampung Kota Belud, Kampung Menunggui and Kampung Gunding, it added.
The Civil Defence Force said it was monitoring the situation in other flood-prone areas in the district. — Bernama
