Defence Ministry acknowledges MAF personnel's sacrifice

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians can rest assured that they can celebrate Aidiladha or enjoy the public holiday today peacefully, thanks to the 10,000 Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) personnel who are safeguarding the country.
Defence Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Johari Baharum said Malaysians should acknowledge the service and sacrifice of the security forces particularly those on duty at the Malaysia-Thailand border and Sulu Sea.
"Their contribution is priceless because the peace that we enjoy including on National Day yesterday is due to this sacrifice.
"In the course of it, some lost their lives and others disabled for life; we greatly value their deeds," he told reporters after launching the Qurban and Aqiqah programme at Masjid Khalid Al Walid, Jalan Padang Tembak here, today.
Also present was Malaysian Royal Navy chief Admiral Ahmad Kamarulzaman Ahmad Badaruddin. — Bernama
