Masked men get away with daylight robbery

GOMBAK: A group of masked men robbed a jewellery shop here in broad daylight and made a quick getaway as onlookers gaped in awe.
In a video that had been making its rounds on social media on Friday, the men wearing helmets and armed with a few tools can be seen helping themselves to the loot in the store.
Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Ali Ahmad said that six men were involved in the heist, but only three of the men were actually seen committing the robbery.
"They were armed with hammers and a gun and they managed escape," he said.
According to Ali, they had broken four display cases and had left with an undisclosed amount of jewellery.
They had also fired a bullet to the ceiling of the shop although no one was hurt in the incident.
Police were inspecting the CCTV footage of the crime.
Two customers and four sales assistants were inside the jewellery shop when the incident happened.
The case is being investigated for gang robbery, armed robbery with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt, and for discharging a firearm.
